Curriculum

The three year cefa™ junior kindergarten program gives your child the opportunity to share learning experiences and play with other children of the same age and intellectual level.

We do, however, have plenty of opportunities for children of different ages (and classrooms) to get together and communicate. Our reading buddies program is one example, where children of Junior Kindergarten Three visit our young Junior Kindergarten One class, and each read a story to one JK1 "buddy". This not only gives our young students an opportunity to learn from our eldest, it also helps our older students reinforce and practice their reading skills by having to use them to tell their young friends a story. Playtime, drama and outdoor fun are also, at times, another way to work together as a school.
Every month of June, our cefababy™ children enter Junior Kindergarten One, our Junior Kindergarten One class graduates to Junior Kindergarten Two, and our Junior Kindergarten Two class graduates in turn to Junior Kindergarten Three. Children look forward to their new classroom, and feel pride in being "one year older"! They express that pride every day by helping younger students feel at ease with their skills.
This "graduation" to a new class also simulates an elementary school environment, which helps children feel more confident and experienced with changing teachers and classrooms once they reach elementary school.
